Former Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak succumbed to two second-half goals at the Akoon Park on Wednesday to lose their third consecutive game under Ivorian Aboubakar Ouattara.

Goals from Kobina Amoah and Godfred Abban ensured that the Phobians were consigned to the 11th position on the league table.

Hearts of Oak went into the game on the back of a shock 1-0 home loss to Bibiani Goldstars while Medeama SC were also reeling from the derby loss to league leaders FC Samartex.

After a goalless first half, the Yellow and Mauves proved the hungrier of the two teams, snatching the first goal in the 65th minute through Amoah.

Then, with eight minutes to go, Abban extended the champions’ lead.

They ran away with all three points to move into the Top 5 of the league.

The Phobians will return home to face Karela United on Sunday, April 14.

Medeama SC will also face Legon Cities.
