Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have appointed former Asante Kotoko Head Coach Mas-Ud Didi Draman as Head Coach.

The accredited CAF Instructor has been handed a two-year contract with immediate effect.

This followed a comprehensive evaluation of the technical team and player performance of the club in the 2024/25 season, the club said in a statement on Friday, June 20.

It said the appointment is to implement a strategy by the board to strengthen the team.

“Coach Draman brings extensive expertise to the club,” Hearts of Oak’s Management stated.

He is scheduled to meet the playing body and outline his plans and philosophy in the coming days.

He has been handed the task to prepare the team for July 6’s President’s Cup and the Eko International Tournament in Nigeria.

The statement was silent on hitherto coach Aboubakar Ouattara, who led the club to fourth last season.

It is unclear if he will revert to his original position as Technical Director of the club.

Didi Draman has served as coach for FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark and its affiliate in Ghana, Right to Dream.

He led Asante Kotoko to two Ghana Premier League titles.

He was part of the coaching staff of the Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, serving as an Assistant Coach.

He also coached the Black Galaxies, the senior national men’s team for locally-based players.

He holds multiple coaching certificates from FIFA and CAF.
