Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club have dismissed reports that former Black Stars coach Maxwell Yaw Konadu has been appointed as the club’s new Head Coach.

“Accra Hearts of Oak has not hired coach Maxwell Konadu as reported in the media,” a terse message on the club’s official X account stated on Thursday, June 5.

There were reports that Ivorian Aboubakar Ouattara has been relieved of his post as a result of the team’s failure to win the 2024/25 League.

They claim the Hearts of Oak gaffer was on his way out and talks had completed for Maxwell Konadu to take over.

The reports indicated that an agreement has been reached in principle to have the former Asante Kotoko coach take over at the helm next season.

However, management put paid to the reports as the club prepares for the last game of the season.

The Phobians play champions FC Samartex and could finish in the Top 4 with a win over the Timber Giants on Sunday.

Konadu last coached in the League in the 2023/24 season, helping Nsoatreman FC to a 4th place finish.

He also guided the now disbanded side to the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup title.
