The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Ellembele Constituency Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah has urged staff of Minerals Commission to put party affiliations aside and work as professionals.

During his first official visit to the Minerals Commission on Monday, 7th April 2025, the Minister stated that, “I believe that you’re doing important work, but my goal is to make sure that I come and add more to what you have done and one of the things we have to do together is to transform the mining sector”.

He added that, “Despite all your hard work, I will be the first to tell you that as a regulator you are the police man of the industry, your job is to make sure that things are going on right in the mining sector”.

Mr Kofi Buah further urged the staff to up their game given the challenges with Galamsey.

“And when you work in a sector like yours and see that in the country everybody is going crazy mining in water bodies, farms, forest and everywhere for gold, we must change how we operate at the Commission, when people hear of the Minerals Commission, they should think of a term of dedicated, principled and professionals who stand firm for Ghana,” he said.
