The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has said he cannot fathom how politicians find it easier purchasing luxurious vehicles for themselves than providing dual desks in classrooms for school children.

The king is livid over the lack of basic amenities for many communities in the country whilst the political class keeps luxurious lifestyles.

According to Nii Teiko, “it beats my mind how someone who says they love this country so much could stash so much money in their room.”

He says corruption is prevalent everywhere and has urged the government to adopt means of curbing the canker.

The Ga Mantse, sharing the impact his Foundation has had on his community, noted that his office has donated thousands of starter packs to school children in Accra to enhance their education.

He urged the political class to prioritise the welfare of the people than living luxurious lifestyles that do not benefit their constituents.

“Corruption is everywhere. I believe that the government must find a way to stamp its authority on corruption.

“I could’ve used all that money to live in luxury, buy a V8, or do whatever. But I’m interested in the welfare of my people,” he told Citi News Sunday, June 02, 2024.

Reacting to the sums stashed in Cecilia Dapaah’s residence, the king intimated that the government needs to work on addressing corruption since it has become pervasive across successive governments.
