Musician, Wendy Shay has addressed rumours about her departure from Rufftown Records when her contract with the label ended.
According to her, she has not completely cut toes with the record label, however, she explained that she’s no more completely managed by the label as the mode of business has evolved from the label managing her exclusively to a partnership.
Making the clarification in a post shared via X, she said, “I am still with Rufftown Records, but it’s more of a partnership this time.”
She explained that she currently has her team that manages her affairs in the partnership with Ruff Town Records.
In May 2024, Wendy Shay left her fans wondering over her deal with Rufftown records following a social media post.
Wendy Shay in a post on X on May 15, 2924 announced the release of a music video for her song, ‘Who Cares’ and indicated that the video will not be available on Rufftown records channels, the label she was known to be fully associated with at the time.
She surprised her fans after she revealed that she has out doored her new YouTube account and urged her fans to follow her as she embarks on her new journey.
Later that same month, Chief Executive Officer, Rufftown Records, Ricky Nana Agyemang widely known as Bullet opened up about his turbulence with Wendy Shay.
Speaking in an interview on Accra FM, the CEO of Rufftown Records confirmed that had issues with Wendy Shay although the artiste had not fully left the label at the time.
He noted that talks were ongoing to resolve the matter with the artiste. Although the disagreement has been resolved, it has come to light following Wendy Shay’s latest post that she’s not fully with Rufftwon Records.
