A former Director of Security at the Kotoka International Airport, Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, has slammed executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in his latest outburst after being exiting the party November this year.

In an interview with William Evans-Nkum on Akoma FM’s evening political show M’abatoɔ, Friday, December 15, 2023, the former NPP parliamentary candidate for Kpone Katamanso said he disposed off his NPP membership card the moment he made up his mind to exit the party.

“I paid money to get the party ID card and I’ve paid dues. It doesn’t belong to them. I flushed it out in a toilet the moment I made up my mind to exit the party,” he said.

Hopeson Adorye was among four strong NPP activists who failed to severe ties with the former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, after he resigned form the party ahead of it presidential primary.

On November 20, 2023, a release signed by the General Secretary of the ruling party expelled a former General Secretary of the party, Nana Ohene Ntow, a former Communications Director, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, former Madina MP, Boniface Sadique Abubakar and Hopeson Yaovi Adorye.

Meanwhile, the four, who are now active members of the Movement for Change with founder Alan Kyeremanten said they knew the position of the party’s constitution on the decision they took, and therefore regarded themselves as non-members the moment they followed the butterfly movement.
