Ghanaian actor and skit maker, Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi, popularly known as Dr. Likee, has made shocking revelations about his past.
Dr. Likee while recounting his past opened up about his involvement in illicit drug trade.
The skit maker revealed this in an interview with Emelia Brobbey on her Okukuseku show.
Dr. Likee said after he had dropped out of secondary school, life became difficult and worked as a scrap dealer before becoming a land guard.
According to him, he was introduced into the sale of drugs by a man he describes as his boss who he said arrived from the United States.
In desperate search of money and employment, Dr. Likee said he joined the illicit sale of drug trade and was making money which made him live luxurious lifestyle.
Speaking in the interview, Dr. Likee noted that he even adviced ex-convicts not to be involved in armed robbery and rather sell drugs because robbery could cause death unlike the illicit drug trade.
“When you are on the street, the idea is to make money, and there are ways to do so without necessarily engaging in armed robbery. So if you are bold, you can engage in dealing with illicit drugs. Every week I used to go to the police station because I was arrested,”
Dr. Likee continued. “I could even introduce someone who has come out of prison to the illicit drug business instead of the person engaging in thievery. With the drugs, they don’t beat you when arrested, but with robbery, you could be crushed to death. The drug business was very lucrative.”
He said at a point he was even thought not trust anyone including his mother and girlfriend due to the kind of business he was involved.
He recounted he was accused of being an armed robber by his close friend because he was always at home during the day but only worked at night.
According to him, he’s been convicted six times of his involvement in the sale of drugs stressing that he was betrayed by his friends.
Dr. Likee has made a great comeback from his past to become a well-known actor in the Kumawood industry.
He has maintained his strong presence in the entertainment industry mainly with his skits on YouTube.
