Lieutenant Colonel Jacob Cudjoe, the Commanding Officer of the Achiase Jungle Warfare School in the Eastern Region, sternly warned persons who intend fomenting trouble on December 07, during the polls.

He says his outfit will deal drastically with such persons if they misbehave and their services are sought by the Ghana Police Service who are supposed to handle security for the conduct of the elections.

The Ghana Police Service is the legally mandated agency entrusted with the sole duty of maintaining order during elections in Ghana.

However, the police is required to fall on the military for reinforcement in case there is chaos and spirals out of c ontrol.

In a video which has since gone viral on social media Thursday, November 21, 2024, Lt. Col. Cudjoe did not mince words to say that should the citizens misbehave on the day of the election and the police seek their assistance, the perpetrators would not be spared.

He stated that the armed forces are there to play a crucial role in maintaining peace and order during the election, ensuring that no one attempts to undermine the process through violence or intimidation.

The soldier reassured the public that the military will liaise with the police to ensure there is peace and order across the country during the polls.

There have been growing concerns over security in the lead up to the elections with many being pessimistic about a potential election-relation violence on December 07.

But the Commander, in his address admonished the citizenry to exercise their democratic rights responsibly, calling for peaceful conduct and respect for the rule of law.

“I am telling you here that I will only come in here this 7th December within the Akyemansa enclave when the police tell me that they cannot, and when I come, I will not talk, I will beat the hell out of you and will leave you.”

“When you go to the polling stations, just cast your vote, go home, go and sleep. When it is 5 pm, come, they will tell you where to stand, they will count for you, if you win, clap, go home then you will not have any problem with me and my people,” he cautioned.
