Ghanaian statesman and founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has lauded President John Mahama for fulfilling some of his 120-day social contract promises to Ghanaians.
Before his assumption of office, then flagbearer of the NDC laid out 25 specific promises, boldly setting himself a 120-day deadline for full implementation if elected.
These pledges cut across critical sectors: nine economic promises, four governance reforms, seven in education and social welfare, three on national security and justice, and one each on environment and tourism, respectively.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with TV3 during the launch of his second book titled “A Nation into Retirement: The Narrative of a Statesman, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said President Mahama has not disappointed in fulfilling some of his social contracts.
“What I see so far is quite inspiring because he (President Mahama) has implemented some of those promises which is a good start. So, I’ll rate him (President Mahama) a 7 out of 10.” He said.
The statesman also praised the President for stabilizing the economy and having control over the affairs of the country.
“You can see that a lot is happening in the economy as well. And also, what I like so far is that the ministers are doing their best. That sort of arrogance that we saw not quite long ago, is not reflecting. So, I think, and he has come through, it appears he has enormous control over his ministers and the country.” Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe stated.
The over 700-page book is written with carefully chosen words to communicate history and guidance for a nation on its way to fulfilling its highest potential and destiny.
