Ghanaian Afrobeats musician, King Promise has reacted to criticisms about his friendship with his long-time friend and socialite, Efia Odo.

King Promise while opening up about his relationship with Efia Odo said the socialite has been his friend for over eight years and supportive of his career.

The ‘Terminator’ hitmaker told Kwadwo Sheldon in an interview that Efia is a close pal even before he rose to fame indicating that he has a strong bond with her.

According to King Promise, he will not end his friendship with Efya Odo just because certain people does not like her character or attitude.

“I don’t know. I have asked some of my friends why they don’t like her, but they can’t give me a reason. Maybe it’s because they don’t appreciate her character, but for me, I appreciate her uniqueness.

“I’ve known Efia for about eight years, long before I gained fame and she has always been supportive of everything I do. So why should I abandon my friend just because you don’t like her? Does that make sense? It certainly doesn’t make sense,” King Promise stated in an interview with YouTuber, Kwadwo Sheldon.

King Promise comment comes after fans and netizens on social media have criticized the friendship between the two, calling on King Promise to distant himself from her.

Prior to the TGMA night, Efia was supportive of King Promise and hoping for the artiste to be crowned the Artiste of the Year. To her, King Promise’s exploit exceeds any other contender in the category and deserved the award.

Both have been seen together in public on many occasions including the recent TGMAs and the artiste’s music video shoot.

With King Promise’s stance, it appears social media users will have to get used to both being close to each other due to the strong bond between them.

King Promise just released his ‘True to Self’ album which is available on all streaming platforms.
