Ghanian afro pop artiste, Amaarae has urged fans of Dancehall artistes Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale not cause any controversy following her praises for Shatta Wale at her block party on April 28,2025.

On April 28, 2025, Amaarae hosted her ‘Black Star Block Party’ at the Republic Bar in Osu, during which she shot a music video for her latest release.

Halfway through her performance, Amaarae surprised fans by performing Shatta Wale’s popular hit song ‘Freedom’, heaping praises on the artiste.

Amaarae stated that despite Shatta Wale’s repeated insults and controversies in the industry, he still manages to receive support from fans.

“Nobody touches this guy, no matter what. Shatta Wale can come and insult all of us today, but tomorrow, he will drop some banger, and you will feel him. I have never felt anybody like the way I feel for this guy,” she said.

Following her public acknowledgement of Shatta Wale, internet users and fans of Stonebwoy have criticised Amaarae, suggesting that she is picking sides between the two artistes.

But the singer in a tweet on Tueaday, April 29 dispelled such suggestions, stating that Stonebwoy is her big brother and has respect for both Dancehall artistes. She noted that she expressed admiration not only for Shatta Wale but Efya as well.

Amaarae stressed that if the DJ had played any of Stonebwoy’s song, she would have ‘bigged up’ the artiste just as he did for Efya and Shatta Wale.

“SM & BHIM FANS! Pls don’t go & cause trouble on my top I beg . Stonebwoy is literally my big brother for years. And I also love Shatta’s music. THE DJ PLAYED FREEDOM & the party went up so I bigged Shatta! I also bigged EFYA for like 10 mins & we performed her songs together, I bigged EAZZI! If the DJ played any STONE bangers I WOULD HAVE BIGGED HIM TOO!” she wrote.
