Minister for the Interior, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak has reiterated government’s commitment to strengthening security operations in the Ashanti Region.
He stressed the need for effective policing and community collaboration.
During the day 2 of his working visit at the Ashanti Regional Police Command, the MP for Asowase, acknowledged the challenges faced by the security agencies and reaffirmed his continued support to enhance their efficiency.
He pointed out that security remains a top priority for the government and appealed to the police personnel to remain dedicated to their duty of protecting lives and property.
“We understand the difficulties you face in maintaining law and order, but I assure you that we are taking the necessary steps to equip you with the resources needed to perform your duties effectively,” Alhaji Muntaka said.
He also urged the residents to cooperate with the police by providing relevant information that could aid crime prevention and resolution. The Minister stressed that security is a shared responsibility and called on community members to trust and work closely with law enforcement agencies.
“As citizens, your support is crucial in ensuring a safer environment. We need everyone to play their part by reporting suspicious activities and engaging positively with security personnel,” he added.
The Minister’s tour comes at a time rising crime rates are being recorded in some parts of the Ashanti Region. He assured the public that the government remains committed to addressing these issues through strategic interventions and enhanced security measures.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command expressed their happiness about the Minister’s visit and reaffirmed their dedication to maintaining peace and order. The Command also highlighted the need for logistical support, including vehicles and modern crime-fighting tools, to improve their operations.
The Interior Minister’s tour is part of a nationwide effort to assess security challenges and implement policies aimed at improving safety and law enforcement effectiveness across the country.
He is scheduled to visit prison and other agencies under his ministry.
