The Onua brands of the Media General group will hold a dialogue in honour of women on Friday, March 08, 2024, to mark the International Women’s Day.

The event will bring to fore some women who are making strides in their space and putting the name of the country on the global stage to celebrate their achievements to learn about their struggles for a better Ghana where women are not afraid to shine.

The International Women’s Day is celebrated on the 8th day of March each year globally to celebrate women’s achievements, struggles, and the ongoing fight for gender equality.

The day usually strikes discussions, actions, and reflections on the progress made and the challenges that persist in women’s quest to make headway in their respective fields of endeavours.

The campaign theme for 2024 is “Inspire Inclusion” and the overarching theme is “Invest in women: Accelerate progress.” It emphasizes the importance of creating an inclusive society and investing in women’s empowerment.

Among the successes and challenges that would be looked at include Ghana’s journey on propagating the need for women involvement in leadership and the contributions they have made in bringing the nation to this stage.

From the days of “ Send your Girl child to school” to date, the scope of the programme will cover the immense contribution of women in traditional trade through to industry, academia, politics, engineering and other critical sectors of the economy that are worth celebrating.

The Onua Women’s Day dialogue comes off on Friday, March 08, 2024, between at 10:00 and 12:00 noon and would be broadcasted live on Onua TV and Onua 95.1FM and their social media handles, as well as their portal, OnuaOnline.com.

Prior to the event, profile of women who have made contributions to national development will be broadcasted on the channels’ midday and evening news bulletins.
