Nations FC’s forward Emmanuel Annor has raised surprise over the fine imposed on him by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for celebrating a goal in the Ghana Premier League with an undergarment revealing the inscription ‘I belong to Jesus’.
Annor celebrated a second goal against Asante Kotoko at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese, boosting their title aspirations.
He was, however, later charged by the GFA for an infringement on the IFAB Laws of the Game.
The nation’s sport-governing body released its ruling on Tuesday, May 13, fining Annor GH¢500 for the gesture.

However, the player took to his social media page to raise concerns about the sanction.
“Why can football players celebrate LGBTQ+ sexuality but not their love for Jesus?
“Romans 14:8 – If we live, we live for the LORD; and if we die, we die for the LORD. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the LORD.
