President John Dramani Mahama has been urged not to let individuals who have stolen state funds go unpunished, lest he incur the wrath of Ghanaians.

Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a founding member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said he has warned the President to ensure that all those involved in the embezzlement of state funds face the full rigors of the law.

According to him, unlike the founding members of the New Patriotic Party, whose vision was to develop Ghana as depicted in the party’s motto, “Democracy in Freedom,” the current crop of leadership of the party is focused on looting the nation.

He cited the ongoing case of the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, who has been charged with stealing state funds.

Speaking on Hot Issues on TV3, he indicated that Ghanaians will never forgive President Mahama, should he fail to prosecute those involved in state looting.

“The boys there now, their interest is not development of this country, their interest is to steal. Look at that young Adu-Boahene? I can’t believe it. Million! And the crafty ways he was making the money, he thought he could never be traced.

“I have warned President Mahama, if they fail to prosecute these people who have stolen money, I’m telling you, they will never be forgiven,” he said Sunday, May 4, 2025.
