Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, running mate to the flag bearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, has efforts need to be made to ensure the implementation of the Affirmative Action Bill.

She says the bill’s passage and its implementation are two different things, highlighting that the latter requires effort to ensure its fruition.

Speaking at her introduction to the Central Regional House of Chiefs by the party’s flag bearer, the Professor called for a conscious effort to ensure any impediment to the implementation of the bill is ameliorated.

“Passing the bill and implementing it are two different things. Now it’s been passed. We want 30% who are pushing us back. We all know. The men know, the women know so we need to look at what is it that might want the implementation of the Affirmative Action Bill not as smooth and as successful as it ought to be,” she stated.

Meanwhile, John Mahama during the introduction of his running mate touted her incorruptible character, citing her years of experience in public office as her trump card for the office of the Vice Presidency.

According to him, a Mahama-Jane Opoku-Agyemang partnership will be an envy to many on the continent.

“Prof. Naana Jane is a leader who possesses high moral values, she is incorruptible and all through her service to Ghana has remained committed and patriotic.

“She comes with wisdom, tact, passion, integrity and decades of experience to the Vice Presidential office,” he extolled.
