There were towns in the Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region where women do not fetch water.
This was because the source of water was far from the town and as such only men walk several kilometers to fetch water.
Apart from this, illegal mining, which destroyed water bodies and thereby starving residents of water, and the situation aforementioned are now a thing of the past.
This is because the Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Dorcas Affo Toffey, has constructed and commissioned water projects in these seven communities in her constituency.
The towns are Kwabre, Sowadadwen, Anwiafutu, Navrongo, Cocoa Town, Gruma Community, and Sosuazo-Nuba.
Residents say the water they used to drink could be compared to that which was used to bath pigs but through the MP, they now have potable water.
They promised to vote for her in the December 7 election to enable her continue the good job for the people of Jomoro.
