Asante Kotoko claimed a lone-goal victory over Aduana FC in their first game under interim coach Abdul-Karim Zito.
The Matchday 29 game was played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, April 27.
It comes barely a week after Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum was given the sack and Zito appointed as Technical Director.
Congolese combative defender Samba O’Neil captained the side for the game as both Fred Asare and Justice Blay started from the bench.
Mohamed Camara, therefore, returned to the starting line-up for the first time in as many games.
Kwame Poku’s first-half strike was the difference as the Porcupine Warriors picked their first win in five games.
Their total points tally reaches 50, just three behind hitherto leaders Gold Stars SC.
Their next match will be at the Accra Sports Stadium against archrivals Hearts of Oak.
