The Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah, has retired from the Authority.

The Professor of Criminology has served as the Executive Secretary of the NIA for the past seven years, being at the forefront of the registration and issuing of the Ghana Card.

In a circular from the staff sighted by OnuaOnline on social media, which has been confirmed by sources at the Authority’s headquarters says “the Management and entire Staff of NIA thank you and wish you well in the next phase of your life.”

The staff acknowledged him as the best person to have led the Authority in the past seven years, citing his admired attributes and dedication to the country as part of the reasons for his success at the NIA.

“You are undoubtedly the Best Man to have led the NIA these past seven years. Your diligence, integrity, transparency, extraordinary eloquence and dedication have served NIA and Mother Ghana well!” portions of the circular contained.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, some staff of the Authority called for the dismissal or resignation of Prof. Attafuah, which the NIA Board dismissed, indicating the petition was baseless and unwarranted.
