The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has postponed the re-opening for the 2026/2027 academic year indefinitely.
The re-opening was originally scheduled for October 13, 2026. However, the University has announced in a press release dated October 9, 2026 and signed by its University Relations Officer, Dr Daniel Norris Bekoe, that the date has been postponed indefinitely.
According to Management, the decision has become necessary in view of the ongoing strike action by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) and its impact on the University’s effective operations and administration.
“Students, parents/guardians, and all other stakeholders are kindly advised to take note of this development. The University Management will provide further updates on the revised re-opening date in due course,” the release said.
Management apologised for any inconvenience the postponement may cause.
“Management regrets any inconvenience this postponement may cause and appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all stakeholders,” it added.
