Asante Kotoko Head Coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum has been named the Coach of the Month in the Ghana Premier League for the December/January period.
This was announced on Monday, February 24 despite weeks of no action in the League.
Dr Narteh Ogum won all games within the period, beating archrivals Hearts of Oak and current leaders Bibiani Goldstars in the trail.
It was after this period that Asante Kotoko suffered defeat to Nsoatreman FC, leading to the post-match stabbing to death of staunch supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.
Asante Kotoko announced a decision to suspend all football-related activities in the aftermath of their fan’s death but have since rescinded that decision, to take effect after his funeral.
Mohamed Camara, who was one of three players redcarded in the 0-1 defeat to Nsoatreman FC, was named the Goalkeeper of the Month.
Hearts of Oak’s Mawuli Wayo also walked away with the Player of the Month after leading the Phobians to fourth position on the log.
