Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Benjamin Afutu says the current form and positions of his former club and Asante Kotoko do not matter when it comes to the Super Clash.

He said players gain renewed motivation going into any Hearts-Kotoko clash and that is what counts on the field of play.

The Ethiopia-based player was speaking on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Friday, May 2 when he made this known.

His comments comes a couple of days to the crucial Matchday 30 game in the Ghana Premier League.

Hearts of Oak, who are sixth on the log, will host the game at the Accra Sports Stadium.

A win will see them go level on points with Asante Kotoko, whose title dreams will be all but over with such an outcome.

“For Hearts, this season has been a little rough but that doesn’t mean that if Asante Kotoko are coming they will put that in their head.

“It is not about form,” Ben Afutu told host Isaac Ansah Apagya.

“All must stay focused to make a beautiful game.”

He also urged the Phobians to be united as they approach Sunday’s game as underdogs.
