KT Hammond is an analogue politician trying to find relevance in a digital world’, Ivan Innocent Kyei, a youth activist and social commentator has said.

He says the MP has refused to abreast himself with the technological age, still clinching to the politics of yesteryears where few persons were left to take centre stage in the political affairs of a polity.

According to Mr. Kyei, social media has awakened the political consciousness of many who hitherto had no interest in anything governance and the earlier the older politicians accepted that the better.

The five-time lawmaker for Adansi Asokwa in the Ashanti Region believes the youth should not be given the chance to take control of leadership since they –the older politicians –are not ready to hand over.

According to the MP, wisdom is a preserve for the aged whilst youthfulness is synonymous to emptiness, the reason some youth hooted and booed at the president.

The act the MP has indicated wouldn’t have been orchestrated if the youth had an iota of wisdom in them, therefore likening their heads to coconut.

“He is buried in antiquity. He is an analogue politician trying to find relevance in this digital world.

“People are now showing genuine interest in the political landscape so if you’re a politician buried in antiquity, you see these strange. The politics of 20 years ago is not the same today. Peoples’ political consciousness have been awakened,” he stated.

Speaking further, Ivan Kyei indicated the then “darling boy” of Ghanaians whose campaign was supported by traders and Kayayees should have conducted a self introspection to ascertain what constituted the sudden turn of events warranting a hooting and booing, rather than for him (KT Hammond) to come and shoot salvoes at the youth for expressing their frustrations.

“One of the first things he should have done was to do a self introspection when he was hooted at. Before the 2016 election, Nana Addo was so popular. Spare parts dealers and even kayayees contributed to his campaign. He was a Darling boy so what happened?,” he asked.

The president, Mr. Kyei added, emits nothing but political frustration and promises which warranted the unfortunate reception the youth expressed at the Global Citizens concert.
