A 16-year-old student of the Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) is in the grip of the Tafo Pankrono Police Command for possession of locally manufactured firearm.
Reports indicate the gun was found in the young boy’s possession at 9:30 in the forenoon of Tuesday, May 14, 2025, when authorities of the school conducted a routine search at the dormitories.
According to the Form Two student, the firearm belongs to his stepfather, Daniel Owusu Baafi, who was also picked up by the police on Thursday, May 15.
In a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs for Ashanti, DSP Godwin Ahianyo, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, it said both the father and his son have been granted police enquiry bail and are scheduled to report to the police today, Monday, May 19, 2025, for further investigations.
