A police officer has died after he crashed into a parked vehicle when chasing a motor rider on the Kumasi – Accra highway in the Ashanti Regional capital.
Disturbing visuals of the incident depicts onlookers busily filming as he raised his left hand in supine position calling for help on the highway.
The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
He was gasping for breath as life slowly left his body with blood oozing from his head just at the tail end of the parked truck.
“He was chasing a motor rider when he crushed into the truck,” eyewitnesses said.
“The truck had developed a fault so the driver and mate were working on it when the policeman ram into it. Both driver and mate left the scene after the incident,” another eyewitness recounted.
The identity of the officer is yet to be established. The KNUST police command came for his body and deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
