Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia, the Vice President and flag bearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has promised to recruit 5,000 youth from the Kwadaso constituency and train them in digital skills.

The Vice President says the world is now a digital space and it was time remote employment was created for the youth to work in other countries whilst staying in Ghana.

Speaking in the Kwadaso constituency as part of his campaign tour to the Ashanti region, he asked for the votes of the residents to enable him enroll his vision for the youth and give them the digital skills needed to earn foreign exchange whilst staying in Ghana.

He explained that the skills could be given to everybody including school dropouts.

“The youth also need digital skills because the world is now going digital. If you have digital skills in Kwadaso, you can be right here and work in America, Canada, Singapore and you’ll be receiving your dollars right from here.

“So, I want Ghanaian youth to be trained in digital skills. Even school dropouts can be trained so I want us to get at least one million youth with digital skills. So we are going to select 5,000 youth from Kwadaso constituency for the training. They can stay here and work outside the country,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Ashanti regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, who is also known as ‘Wontumi‘, is confident the elephant fraternity will retain power after this year’s elections.
