An injury time penalty by perennial goalscorer Kwame Opoku gave Asante Kotoko a 2-1 win over Division One side Golden Kick SC in the final of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup.

Opoku had put the Porcupine Warriors ahead in the first half at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium but the hitherto giantkillers equalised in the second half.

With the match heading to extra time, the referee called for an infringement in the penalty area of Golden Kick.

With utmost composure, Opoku slotted the ball at the back of the net to win the day for the Ghana Premier League side.

It delivers the 2024/25 trophy to Abdul-Karim Zito’s men, booking them Ghana’s sole ticket for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
