Sudan coach James Kwesi Appiah had mixed fortunes on Monday.
The former Black Stars Head Coach and captain missed out on the shortlist of the CAF Coach of the Year Awards.
Appiah, who has improved the Falcons of Jediane, was nominated for the gong but missed out to Angola’s Pedro Goncalves, Ivory Coast’s Emerse Fae, DR Congo’s Sebastien Desabre, South Africa’s Hugo Broos and Al Ahly Marcel Koller.

However, Appiah on the same day qualified Sudan to back to the AFCON.
After a goalless draw against the Palancas Negras in a match played at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi, Libya, Sudan made it to Morocco 2025.
They joined their opponents in Monday’s game as the qualifiers from Group F.
Their qualification leaves Ghana and Niger out of contention with the Black Stars languishing bottom of the group after a 1-2 loss at home to the Menas.
Angola topped the group with 14 points with Sudan second on eight points.
Niger had seven points and Ghana could only manage three points.
