The Ministry of Health is appealing to striking members of the Medical Laboratory Professional Workers’ Union (MELPWU) to reconsider its decision and return to the lab.

The Union says its industrial action is to remind the government of its conditions of service which the latter has failed to fulfill after concerns were raised over it last year.

But a Monday, June 17, 2024 statement released by the Ministry of Health says the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has been engaging the MELPWU since 2023 when it laid its conditions before the government.

The Ministry, has through the release, pleaded with MELPWU to suspend its strike and return to the negotiation table with the government to get its concerns addressed.
