The Juaboso District in the Western North region has been experiencing some political unrest since the Electoral Commission (EC) began its limited voter registration exercise.

The major political parties in the constituency have been on a headlock over the applicants. Both parties have been protesting the eligibility of some applicants since the start of the exercise at the Juaboso District Centre.

In a heated argument to prevent one of the applicants, whom the National Democratic Congress (NDC) alleged was under-aged from registering, the constituency Election and IT Director of the party, Francis Nyamekye, took a photo of the applicant as evidence.

His actions, however, didn’t go well with the NPP members around who went on him in full force. The NPP Constituency Secretary, Maxwell Quansah, who was not around at the time, was informed about the incident later.

Mr. Quansah, displeased about the incident went and held the NDC’s IT director’s chest and subsequently, tore his attire.

Meanwhile, some people around came to separate them.

Due to that, the EC took a forced break so that the security could maintain calm at the registration centre.
