The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has described the next four years a “golden age for development.”

He made this declaration during the confirmation ceremony of the newly endorsed District Chief Executive (DCE) for Banda, held at Banda Ahenkro on Monday, April 14, 2025.

Mr Ibrahim, who is also the Member of Parliament for Banda Constituency, emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure sustainable development.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to the people of Banda for their support and promised to continue working tirelessly to bring more development projects to the constituency. He urged the newly confirmed MDCEs in the Bono Region to prioritize the needs of the people and work towards improving the livelihood of the residents.

“This is clear evidence that Banda has welcomed unity. Let’s bury our differences and work in unity because in unity lies strength. Let us all join our heads together to transform our community. With the confirmation of our new MMDCEs, we are poised to achieve even more under President Mahama’s visionary leadership. These four years is a period golden age of development.” The Minister emphasized.

At a ceremony marked by overwhelming support, the newly confirmed Banda DCE, Peter Dongi, received a 100% endorsement from assembly members.

Delivering his thanksgiving address after his confirmation, Mr. Dongi pledged his full commitment to implementing President Mahama’s “Resetting Agenda,” focusing on grassroots development and improved governance.

“I am grateful for the trust reposed in me. My administration will work closely with the MP and traditional leaders to reset Banda’s progress, aligning with the President’s agenda to uplift livelihoods and ensure inclusive development.” He stated.
