Minority Leader, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, resorted to asking for patience from his Creator after his question to Supreme Court Justice nominee, Hafisata Amaleboba, was ruled out by the Chairman.

The Effutu Member of Parliament had asked the nominee the polling station she registered and voted, which she responded as La, a suburb of Accra.

Afenyo-Markin had proceeded to ask where exactly in La, but was overruled by the Chairman, Bernard Ahianyo, who felt the question was irrelevant to the cause.

Afenyo-Markin (A-M): My Lady, which constituency did you register?

Hafisata Amaleboba (H A): I registered in the La constituency.

A-M: Which polling station or centre specifically? Is it the Trade Fair area, La Wireless, or South La, Nyaniba Estate area?

H A: It’s within La proper.

The Chairman, Mr. Ahiafor, stepped in and said “Hon Members, I’m inclined to overrule this question. What we do in vetting the judges are governed by law. The individual polling station they cast their votes, I don’t think on grounds of relevance, is required.”

The Minority Leader who was obviously unhappy about the overruling asked for God’s patience in order to control himself.

“Lord, grant me patience!, Lord, grant me patience!” he stated.
