President John Dramani Mahama has today, Tuesday, February 18, 2025, officially submitted his asset declaration form to the Auditor-General.

The announcement was made by his Senior Presidential Advisor and Special Aide, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, in a post on her social media Tuesday.

She disclosed that the move is an indication of the President’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in his administration.

“The President submitted his assets declaration form to the Auditor-General this morning at the Presidency. This communicates his commitment to transparency and accountability as a key component of his presidency,” she said in a post on her Facebook.

The asset declaration move, meanwhile, is a constitutional requirement for public officials to disclose their financial status prior to assuming an office.

It is meant to ensure good governance and transparency to prevent duty bearers from overly abusing their portfolios to acquire wealth at the expense of the public.

The President’s action serves as an example for other public officials to follow.
