Electorate voting at the Naval Base Nursery and Primary Polling Station at Manhean in the Tema East constituency were up in arms against a man who came to the centre to share GHC100 notes to the EC officials at the centre.

The man identified to be a naval officer and a worker at VALCO in the industrial area, came to the voting centre in a VALCO branded pickup truck wearing a batakari.

The electorate, upon realizing what was happening, started hooting at him, but he appeared unperturbed as he left the centre.

Some of the EC officials took the cash while others declined.

It took the intervention of the security detail on duty to calm tempers only for him to re-surface in the bid to cast his vote.

The disappointed security detail on the ground tried speaking to him, but he called their bluff and went ahead to cast his vote at the same centre.

As tempers flared, the head of security at the station had to call for a reinforcement to contain the situation that nearly escalated.

The police have since commenced investigation into the matter.
