Media General Ghana Limited, the largest media conglomerate in Ghana, has launched the 2025 edition of Ghana Month slated for the month of March each year.

The season, usually used to depict the cultural heritage of Ghana, is observed by all Media General platforms.

During the period, presenters put on traditional regalia that represent the respective tribes in the country to showcase their tradition.

It is also a period that is used to acknowledge certain cultures in various parts of the country, thus special programmes are held to provide education in that regard.

Indigenes from the various ethnic settings are invited in the course of the month to provide in-depth education on some of their cultural practices for the benefit of the Media General audience.

The month-long celebration also projects some historic background of the country and rationale for some national events and traditions which have become a part of national identity.

Speaking at the launch of the event at the beautifully crafted Ghana Month Village on the premises of Media General Monday, March 03, 2025, Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO) of Media General, Nuamah Eshun-Famiyeh, highlighted the need for national unity in Ghana.

He explained that the story of Ghana is laced with memories of uncountable marriages and business relationships.

The inter-tribal marriages amongst others, he stressed, provides the means for people to see themselves as one people.

The Group COO in the concluding part of his address highlighted the need for citizens to embrace what the Sociologist terms the ‘consensus universalis‘, which comprises the food, faith, customs and traditions that are shared amongst people.

“Ghana Month is when we embrace culture, when we learn to cherish our customs, our food, faith, togetherness and the love we have for each of the tribes that are resident in this country.

“Let us learn our culture, let us love our food, let us love our customs, our costumes and above all, let us love each other because, embedded in the story of this land is a people who are united by faith and have come together by the land that we have been given to share,” he concluded.
