“We equally request that Government, through ECG, should not only waive
the accumulated electricity bills for the flood victims but also make Mepe and other flood affected communities to pay subsidized electricity bills going forward,” he stated.

Torgbe Nego further called on the government on the Council’s behalf, to get their deplorable roads constructed.

“Additionally, we call for the reconstruction of the Sege-Mepe-Dove Road, which has become highly unmotorable, leading to unfortunate road traffic accidents which would have been prevented if the road was properly constructed and marked. Mepe township roads are also not in a good state
after the floods; special attention must also be given to their upgrade,” he stated.
