Midfielder Mohammed Kudus has served his five-game ban following a fracas that saw him red-carded in West Ham United’s 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in October.

Despite scoring the opener in that game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Kudus got involved in a scuffle with Micky van de Ven. It got worse as he violently pushed Senegalese Pape Matar Sarr by the neck.

Aside the Red Card dished out by referee Andy Madley, the Ghanaian was handed a two-match additional suspension after hearing by an Independent Panel set up by the English FA.

Kudus missed crucial matches including the Hammers’ win at Old Trafford that saw Erik Ten Hag dismissed as Manchester United manager.

The Claret and Blues won only one match after that.

On Tuesday, December 3, Julen Lopetegui named the former Ajax man in his starting XI against Leicester City, who have former Manchester United man Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new manager.

The Spanish manager is chasing his fifth win of the campaign.

It is the start of a busy month as the club has five more matches to play before the year ends.
