The Member of Parliament for Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Francis Owusu-Akyaw, has handed over a state-of-the-art ICT center for the Foase Methodist Primary School in Ashanti Region.

The ultramodern ICT Centre, valued at GH¢70,000, is expected to serve pupils of Foase and six surrounding communities, providing access to modern digital tools and resources.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the Member of Parliament for Juaben, Francis Owusu-Akyaw stated that the project was initiated after concerns were raised about the absence of ICT facilities in the school.

He emphasized that the facility would help students keep pace with the fast-changing digital world.

“ICT and robotics are now dominating the education system. We have set up this center with 50 tablets for Foase Methodist Primary School, but children from the surrounding communities can also come here and learn,” he said.

He further urged parents to allow their children to take advantage of the center.

“These resources are here for the children. I urge parents from neighbouring communities to send their wards here to study,” he added.

Representing the Juaben Municipal Director of Education, the Head of Supervision and Monitoring, Abodoo Kansake Mark, commended the MP for his intervention.

He appealed to the school authorities to ensure the facility is properly maintained for the benefit of future generations.

The new ICT center is expected to boost digital literacy and enhance teaching and learning in Foase and its adjoining communities.
