On the 30th of May 2025, at around 18:20hrs officers of a special team from the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) were deployed to trail and arrest one Mr Geoffrey Agbi.
The suspect was arrested in his inner office at the gym in Kuntunse Spirit filling Station, near Amasaman.
A press update issued by NACOC on May 31 indicated that, “Several substances suspected to be illicit drugs were found and retrieved from his office. He has since been detained to help with investigations.
Background
On Monday, 14th April 2025, at about 22:00 hours, NACOC, acting on credible intelligence, raided four (4) chain stores (a pub, boutique, salon, and a gym) located on the premises of the Spirit filling station in Kuntunse-Satellite
Five (5) suspects were arrested, including Mr Elvis Owusu Yeboah, gym instructor and Joseph Godsway, a gym instructor and Nigerian national.
Suspects Yeboah and Godsway are both employees of Korea Gym, located at Kuntunse Satellite within the Amasaman Municipal Assembly. The owner and kingpin in the trade of illicit drug in that vicinity, Mr Geoffrey Agbi , absconded and has been on the NACOC’s wanted list.
Surveillance of the Spirit filling station indicated that Mr Geoffrey Agbi, after NACOC’s raid at his gym, contracted new persons to aid him in his illicit drug trade at the gym.
