The wife of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), the vice-presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alma Naa Jama Opoku Prempeh, has officially joined the campaign trail.

She began with a significant visit to her maternal family home, where she sought their blessings and support.

Accompanied by prominent figures, including Greater Accra Regional Minister Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover and NPP regional and constituency executives, Mrs. Opoku Prempeh engaged in traditional rites and received a warm reception from her family and party supporters. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as chants of support echoed throughout the gathering.

During the visit, the maternal family head, Nii Agyir Banor, performed ancestral blessings, calling for guidance and protection as she embarks on her campaign journey. He emphasized the importance of unity within the family, urging everyone to offer their full support.

He reminded her that their combined efforts would not only contribute to the NPP’s success in the upcoming elections but also bring honour to their family.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister Nii Kwartei Titus Glover spoke on behalf of the Ga-Adangbe community, expressing their pride and excitement at the prospect of one of their own potentially becoming the Second Lady of Ghana.

“She is one of us, and we are proud to have her here. I pray for her success and especially for the success of the Bawumia-NAPO ticket. We the Ga – Adangbes are grateful and humbled ” he added.

Mrs. Opoku Prempeh’s visit was seen as a boost to the Bawumia-NAPO ticket, as she leverages her roots in the Ga-Adangbe community to rally support for the NPP.
