Ghana Premier League side Nations FC have acknowledged the decision by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to dock 3 points from their total points accumulation and slap them with a fine over the abandonment of the game against Basake Holy Stars on Sunday, June 1.

The decision, taken by a three-member panel chaired by Osei Kwadwo Addo, Esq., saw them drop from 2nd to 5th on the final 2024/25 standings.

The decision was taken after their protest against Basake Holy Stars was dismissed while one by their opponents was upheld.

In the club’s remarks on the decision, it said it disagrees with some key aspects of the ruling.

However, it made it clear that it will not pursue the matter any further after being given 24 hours within which to appeal.

“We acknowledge the Disciplinary Committee’s decision, albeit with disappointment,” Nations FC said on Tuesday.

“While we disagree with key aspects of the ruling, we have chosen not to pursue an appeal.”

It observed that doing the right thing in the sport doesn’t always guarantee the right outcome, expressing resolve to commit “to fairness, safety, and the values this club stands for”.

The decision also saw Basake Holy Stars awarded 3 points and 3 goals.
