Nations FC’s dreams of winning the Ghana Premier League title for the first time were given a major boost after securing a 1-0 win over Accra Lions.
The three points scooped at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex at Abrankese became more valuable after hitherto leaders Bibiani Gold Stars lost 1-0 at home to struggling Karela United.
Sadiq Alhassan’s second-half strike was the difference in the Matchday 30 clash.
It takes Nations FC’s point tally to 54 while Gold Stars drop behind them with 53 points.
Hearts of Lions’ 2-1 win over champions FC Samartex puts them on the same tally as the Bibiani-based side.
The League takes a one-week break for the semi-finals of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup.
After the break, Nations FC will play Legon Cities as the League inches to a close.
