Newcomers Nations FC have gone top of the Ghana Premier League for the first time after beating Great Olympics 1-0 on Friday, April 5.

An injury-time goal by Razak Simpson ensured that the debutants scoop all the three points to send their total tally to 43.

The Week 24 early kick-off was played at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex at Abrankese.

Before the game, Nations FC were two points behind leaders FC Samartex 1996.

The win, therefore, sends them a point clear on top.

FC Samartex will have to at least draw against defending champions Medeama SC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday in order to return to the summit.

After losing Friday’s game, Great Olympics stay 11th on the log, right behind Asante Kotoko.

Nations FC will play Real Tamale United in the next game, in midweek, while Olympics host Bechem United.
