The Binduri branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at a press conference at Benguri on Friday, July 26 accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Member of Parliament, Abdulai Abanga, of pointing hands falsely at the NDC for being behind an attack on the NPP Constituency Chairman at his residence and burning a pick-up vehicle into ashes in the process.
The NDC Constituency Communication Director, Jameidu Sadat Mbawini, denied the accusations, saying they have no hand in the attack and will not be the ones to spearhead the same on their people.
Jambeidu Sadat Mbawin rather accused the MP, who is also the Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, of not commenting on the numerous attacks on NDC members and citizens in the Binduri District, most of whom have lost their lives, he said.
Addressing the media at Binduri, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Lawyer Ussif Mahamuud, called on the MP to apologise to the good people of the area.
He said NDC would not burn an NPP car or a car that belongs to a resident to win an election.
Lawyer Ussif Mahamuud, however, said the entire NPP machinery in the Region prioritise assets over human lives.
He said the NDC has a better trackrecord in the Constituency than NPP and will not associate itself in attacks or killings.
The Deputy Regional Communications Bureau of NDC, Atoasi Benjamin, condemned the dastardly act of the attack on the NPP chairman’s residence and the burning of his vehicle.
He said they as an NDC wouldn’t destroy or burn vehicles before winning elections in the Binduri Constituency.
He, however, called on the Member of Parliament to conduct a thorough investigation of the political parties to fish out the perpetrators.
