Member of Parliament for Korley Klortey, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has assured Ghanaians the the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is going to set the standards high when it comes to tolerance for corruption.

Unlike the status quo being headed by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Agyeman-Rawlings has urged members of the NDC to set the standards high when it comes to fighting the canker.

During her speech at the launch of the NDC’s 2024 campaign in Tamale, the Northern regional capital, on the theme; Change to reset Ghana, the Korley Klortey lawmaker indicated that corruption is the biggest threat to the nation.

According to her, incidents of coup d’etats and massive protests amid jihadist attacks on the military that is ongoing in neighbouring African countries is not the greatest threat to the country, but rather, corruption.

She admonished members of the party to assure themselves and the general public that the next NDC administration will not tolerate anything corruption, in order to purge the nation of what she describes as its biggest threat.

“Do you know that the biggest threat to our democracy is corruption? It is not what we are seeing happening around us in other countries. It is corruption.

“And this is corruption that has been presided over by this NPP government. But today, what we have to do, is to promise one another, and to promise John Mahama that we will set the bar high when it comes to zero tolerance with respect to corruption,” she indicated.

She added that the ruling NPP believes it can buy Ghanaians because of the way politics has been monetised in the country, reemphasising that “enough is enough.”

“Comrades, the reality we are faced with today, is that our politics has become so monetised that these people believe everybody can be bought at a price and we have to prove them wrong. We have to tell them enough is enough,” she added.
