Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Foyo Gbande, has admitted that some Ministers serving in the Mahama administration need to be reshuffled.

“Some Ministers must be reshuffled. As a Deputy General Secretary, that is what I believe.”

However, he says carrying out the exercise at this moment will be catastrophic to the NDC due to the divisions that currently exist in the party.

He is therefore calling for a consensus building amongst party faithful to ensure such an exercise will not put the party in disarray.

According to him, there is a problem in the party which has gone beyond changing or taking some members’ appointments from them, indicating the party needs a united front in order for the President to carry out a reshuffle.

Speaking exclusively on Onua TV’s morning show, Maakye, on Monday, May 11, 2026, Mr. Gbande said although the Government needs reshuffling, there needs to be an understanding amongst the base to ensure it will not further deepen the segmentation that is currently characterising the party.

“Our problem is gone beyond reshuffle. Who are you going to change? Because if we are not together, if you reshuffle someone, they’ll say it’s because you don’t like the person. The appointees we have now, I genuinely believe that some of them must be changed.

“But who are you going to reshuffle at this point when people believe that ‘this is my godfather, this is who I’m aligned to?’ and I think that we need to come together and decide that whether you like it or not, there will be reshuffle. If he does it now, it will be misinterpreted and misconceived,” he indicated.
