The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Augustus Andrews Nana Akwasi, has said the next NDC government which will be lead by former President John Dramani Mahama will fix the Kejetia Market metre issue.

Speaking on a local radio station in Kumasi monitored by this portal, the regional Chairman said the only person who understands and is ready to help traders at the Kejetia new market is former President John Dramani Mahama.

“It was His Excellency John Dramani Mahama who built this new market against all odds; he ensured that it meets modern trading arena. The reason he gave approval for some leaders of the traders to join government delegation to Brazil,” he said.

According to Nana Akwasi, “the metre system was part of the project until this government decided otherwise.”

He assured that the next NDC government which he emphasiz’sed would be led by Mr. Mahama “will fix the problem so traders will have stable power to do their business.”

Nana Akwasi also called on members of the NDC to remain resolute and work harder in order to regain power.

“The failures of the ruling party is so monumental that, they simply can’t fix the economy. People in the Ashanti Region are beginning to know that the only way for the country to get out of the economic mess is bringing the NDC back to power.”
