An estimate given by a Civil Society Organisation (CSO) to run for a Parliamentary election in Ghana stands at $2million according to Spokesperson for the John Mahama campaign, Joyce Bawa Mogtari.
She says the high cost of living has resulted in such huge sums being wasted by people to amass political power in the country.
According to her, since some MPs spend only one term in Parliament after spending that much, she sees the amount as a sacrifice some people have decided to make in pursuing their political goals since “nobody pulls a gun on their head” to spend that much to secure political power.
