In a move aimed at revitalizing the communication strategy of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the North East Region, the current Deputy Regional Communication Officer, Abdulai Malik, widely known as “Honorable Dayan”, has officially launched his campaign to become the substantive Regional Communication Officer.
Drawing upon his tenure as Deputy, Malik pledges to transform the region’s communication wing into a dynamic, daily operation that addresses the systemic disconnection felt by branch-level officers, ensuring the party’s narrative is effectively disseminated throughout the six constituencies.
Addressing NDC faithful in the North East Region, Abdulai Malik extended his profound felicitations to the Regional Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul-Rauf Tanko, and the Regional Minister, Ibrahim Tia, while recognizing the resilience of the party’s Council of Elders, founding fathers and cadres.
He expressed his gratitude to the distinguished Members of Parliament and acknowledged the mentorship and blessings received from the CEO of Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, regarding his candidacy.
Malik emphasized that he remains optimistic that constituency executives will evaluate candidates based on their hard work, loyalty, humility and overall performance.
Reflecting on his tenure as the Deputy Regional Communication Officer, he highlighted the indelible footprints he has established, most notably the innovation of “Operation Boot on the Ground” during the 2024 general election.
He explained that this initiative was designed to translate the NDC manifesto into local dialects such as Mampruli, Konkomba, Muar and Anufu, while extending the party’s reach into markets, football fields, and social centers. Furthermore, he noted his history of donating campaign logistics to parliamentary candidates and youth groups, as well as his efforts in organizing and personally funding regional rallies.
Recognizing a significant vacuum between the regional communication wing and the branch communication officers, a disconnect that has left many feeling sidelined, Malik articulated his commitment to rectifying these grievances.
He stated his intention to utilize the powers of the Regional Communication Officer to ensure that communication becomes a daily, consistent activity across all platforms and throughout the entire region.
Ultimately, he appealed for the support of all committed NDC members for the Malik Dayan Movement, framing his candidacy as a necessary step to defend the Reset Agenda and restore effective engagement within the party’s grassroots structure.
